How can I become a singer?

okay so im 14 and would like to be a singer. My parents would like me to do something more practical and that will guarantee me a future lyk a doctor. i dnt fink its so bad bcuz i love science and when i was little I wanted to become a doctor. as i grew up i realised dat it isnt that easy and I developed a passion for singing. What can i do?
